A TikTok Business account, ready for its first video.
Five steps from sign-up to a profile that says what the business is: a Business account, a bio, a website link and a pinned first video.
Before you start
Three things,
ready first.
- A business e-mail addressSign up with the business's own address, not a personal one.
- A username, a name and a bioThe username up to 24 characters, the name up to 30 and a bio of up to 80.
- A square logo and a first videoThe profile picture is shown in a circle. The video is the part that cannot be prepared by anybody else.
The steps
Step by step,
in this order.
Short, because TikTok's profile is short. The work is in the videos; the profile only has to be clear about who is behind them.
- 1Create the accountSign up at tiktok.com or in the app with the business's e-mail address, and choose the username and the name.
- 2Switch to a Business accountIn the app, under Settings and privacy, then Account, switch to a Business account and pick the category.
- 3Fill in the profileAdd the bio and the profile picture. A Business account can carry a website: put the address there.
- 4Post the first videosPost a few videos that show what the business does, so a visitor who opens the profile finds something to watch.
- 5Pin the first videoOpen the video that says the most, choose the ⋯ menu, then Pin to your profile, so it is the first thing a visitor sees. TikTok takes up to three pinned videos.
