Guides · Facebook Page
A Facebook Page,set up properly.
Six steps from a personal profile to a business Page with a picture, a cover, a button and its first posts. Every number you will be asked for is in the guide.
Before you start
Three things,
ready first.
- A personal profileA Page is made and managed from one. Pick the profile of somebody who will stay with the business.
- A name and a logoThe name customers know you by, a square logo, and a wide picture for the cover.
- The business detailsThe category, a short bio, the opening hours, a phone number or e-mail, and the website.
The steps
Step by step,
in this order.
Do them in this order: the later steps assume the earlier ones are done. The links go to Facebook itself.
- 1Sign in with your own Facebook profileA Page is made and managed from a personal profile; the profile's name never shows on the Page. Use the profile of somebody who will stay with the business: a Page with only one manager who leaves is hard to get back.
- 2Create the PageOpen Create a Page, type the Page name and a short bio, and pick the category closest to what the business does.
- 3Add the profile picture and the coverUpload both. The profile picture is shown in a circle, so the logo has to stay inside it; the cover is cut differently on phones and computers, so only its middle is sure to be seen.
- 4Finish the detailsIn the Page's settings, add the longer description, the opening hours and the contact details, choose the username, and put the website address in the website field, so the Page has an address of its own.
- 5Add the action buttonOn the Page, choose Add action button and pick the one that fits, such as Call now, Book now or Learn more. It sits at the top of the Page, beside Follow, and lets a visitor act in one tap.
- 6Post the first three postsWrite posts that introduce the business, publish them, then pin the one that says the most (the ⋯ menu on the post, then Pin post), so a visitor meets it first. Add alt text when you upload a picture.

The numbers
Sizes and limits,
to have to hand.
The limits Facebook sets for a Page, and the picture sizes that fit them. All platforms side by side: Profile and cover sizes.

With FABLS
Then connect it.
Once is enough.
In FABLS, open Channels, connect Facebook and choose this Page. From then on FABLS publishes to it at each slot's time once a person has approved the post, and the comments under those posts come back to one inbox with a reply drafted.
FABLS also follows these steps inside the app, as a setup guide with a profile kit: it fits your own words to Facebook's limits and draws the profile picture and the cover at the sizes above, from your colours, logo and name.
Plain about it: FABLS connects a Page; it does not create one. Making the Page on Facebook is the first half of the job, and it is yours.
Questions
Quick answers.
Do I need a personal profile to make a Page?
Yes. A Page is created and managed from a personal profile, although the profile's name does not show on the Page. Add a second person as an admin so the Page does not depend on one login.
Why is my cover cut differently on my phone?
Facebook crops the cover differently on phones and computers, so only its middle is sure to be seen. Keep the words in the middle 60% of the width.
Can FABLS publish to a personal Facebook profile?
No. FABLS publishes to a Facebook Page, which is why the Page comes first.
Nine more guides.
Same shape, same order.
Each one is a short list of steps, the numbers you will be asked for and an honest word on what FABLS does there.
Do the steps once.
Let the kit do the typing.
FABLS's setup guide for Facebook is in the app: open Channels, then Set up a profile. It keeps your place in the steps and ticks the connection by itself.
